BUTT no. 34

The magazine is recognized for publishing photography and interviews featuring prominent gay artists. It gained widespread attention with its inaugural issue in May 2001, which showcased nude portraits of German fashion designer Bernhard Willhelm, captured by Wolfgang Tillmans. Since its inception, BUTT has continued to spotlight numerous gay artists, including Casey Spooner, Michael Stipe, John Waters, Heinz Peter Knes, Edmund White, Terence Koh, Walter Pfeiffer, and Slava Mogutin.
