Fuck Journal

Fuck Journal by Bob Flanagan, first published by Hanuman Books in 1987, chronicles a year of intimate and artistic collaboration with his partner Sheree Rose. Written before Pain Journal, the book candidly documents their union amid pain, BDSM practices, and shared creative life. Its raw content led Indian authorities to destroy the original print run, leaving only a few copies that reached the US. 

Flanagan (1952–1996), based in Southern California, was known for his provocative poetry, performances, and video work with Nine Inch Nails and Danzig. Fuck Journal remains a foundational text in discussions of sadomasochism, disability, gender politics, and erotic expression in contemporary art.
