Full Phrases is the debut book of writing by Piotr Niepsuj, a photographer known for his sharp visual storytelling. While it may seem unusual for a photographer to pivot to writing, both disciplines share a deep connection—capturing moments, ideas, and memories.
Unlike his previous work, Full Phrases contains no photographs—neither his nor anyone else's. Instead, Niepsuj curates and expands on the punchy, thought-provoking text snippets he originally shared on Twitter, blending elements of rap lyrics, minimalist poetry, and nerdy haikus into a unique literary form.
Described as a rebellious take on photography, the book questions the role of images in today's viral-driven culture. Should we continue to capture everything visually, or is it more powerful to let words create mental images instead? Full Phrases challenges how we perceive storytelling, proving that language itself can be a powerful visual tool
