Celestino Piatti (1922-2007) was one of the most internationally renowned Swiss graphic artists, leaving behind a rich visual heritage that is both idealistically and materially impressive. His extensive body of work includes book covers, paintings, lithographs, posters, illustrations, children’s books, and sculptures.

Piatti's Œuvre gained outstanding recognition, particularly through the more than 6000 book covers he designed for the Deutscher Taschenbuch Verlag (dtv) from 1961 to the mid-1990s. Originals of these dtv covers are housed in the Graphic Arts Collection of the Swiss National Museum in Zurich. Piatti was also known for his impactful poster art, delivering concise messages in a global format.
