In December 2021, Danny Fox and Kingsley Ifill embarked on an eight-day journey across the breadth of the British Isles. Starting from near Dover, Kent, they traced the eastern coastline up to the Isle of Skye, Scotland, before looping back through the West Midlands, Wales, and various other locations along the way. Their expedition was characterized by spontaneity and self-directed exploration, capturing the essence of the British landscape as it unfolded before them.
"Holy Island" comprises fifty collaborative works on paper, merging Ifill's photography with Fox's paintings. Serving as a visual chronicle of their shared experiences, the collection delves into the intricate intersection of rural and urban environments that define modern Britain.
