Latent Figures – Jannis Maroscheck

Following Shape Grammars (2020), Jannis Maroscheck uses AI-based systems trained only on graphic shapes, from runes and monograms to clip art and stock icons, to generate new forms. The result is a catalogue of figures that hover between the recognisable and the abstract, arranged as a kind of visual dictionary. Written and designed by Maroscheck.
