Characters Zine (2023 Edition) — Orugasan

Holding this slender A4 volume offers an immediate, tangible delight; risograph-printed with raw texture and electric color brilliance, its physical presence showcases the unique tactile magic that only small-batch riso artwork can deliver. We curated the Characters Zine for the dashpress collection because Orugasan—an award-winning illustrator and zine-maker based in the German countryside—embodies the true spirit of DIY publishing, creating self-published editions that bridge fine art illustration and independent bookmaking.

Across its pages, the zine highlights Epikhina’s distinct character design—a whimsical realm populated by odd, expressive figures brought to life through layered risograph inks. Printed in a limited run with meticulous attention to color and craft, this release is a charming acquisition for illustration collectors, risograph enthusiasts, and print purists who cherish independent, self-published media.
