This book, released in conjunction with an exhibition at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Osaka, illuminates the lives and artistic contributions of Japanese sculptor Shingu Susumu and Italian architect Renzo Piano, who share the same birth year and have collaborated since 1989. Their partnership began when Piano, fresh from winning the international competition to design the passenger terminal for Kansai International Airport, enlisted Shingu's expertise to craft a creation that would render the flow of air visible. The outcome, 'Boundless Sky', was installed on the airport's international departure level, marking the inception of their fruitful collaboration. Since then, these two visionary artists have joined forces on numerous projects across the globe.
