ELECTRICITY

At a time when we engage in a more global dialogue about culture and society, we take daily action seeking value alignment with our peers around the world. The question that fuels our actions is: where and how do I find the people together with whom I can progress towards what I aspire to become within this expanding and participatory cultural and social environment? 

ELECTRICITY is an experiential channel for the arts responding to this question with a series of exhibitions and accompanying books. The current edition in this series plugs directly into the culture-zeitgeist of Cape Town, South Africa, a city in which talents spanning the fields of fashion, visual art and music are creating works inspired by their lives, realities and experiences, engaging us over issues that tie in with our common values. 

While each edition aims to transmit the spirited creative output of a different city, the curatorial vision remains focused on the shared attitudes, beliefs and endeavours that fuel connection across cultures. It is an entry point into the electricity of a newly emergent global community, one in which we can all be cooperative parts of a greater energy that makes life more dynamic for everyone involved.
