Sex, Clubs, Dissent – Amelia Abraham

Edited by writer Amelia Abraham, this book assembles a visual history of queer nightlife as seen by photographers, filmmakers and artists. It asks how image-making has helped build, and sometimes endangered, queer subcultures and forms of resistance, and how photography connects with pleasure, politics and protest. Essays and conversations include contributions by Brontez Purnell, McKenzie Wark, Sunil Gupta, Legacy Russell and Tourmaline, among others.
