Developed at the Zurich University of the Arts, Tender Digitality examines how human desires for sensuality, intuition, and interpersonal connection can exist—and even flourish—within digital spaces. This concept brings binary systems into motion while seeking to retranslate these intangible, often ephemeral, digital experiences into the tactile and lasting form of a book.
The publication invites readers to act as researchers, navigating phenomena that blur the lines between the analog and digital, social and technological. Through essays, research, and visual works, it asks what a future might look like in which humans, artificial intelligences, avatars, and cyborgs share digital landscapes with mutual sensitivity and agency.
Featuring contributions from Charlotte Axelsson, Oliver Bendel, Dana Blume, Marisa Burn, Alexander Damianisch, La Ermuth, Hannah Eler, Barbara Getto, Leoni Hof, Marcial Koch, Mela Kocher, Friederike Lampert, Gunter Lsel, Francis Mller, Marie-France Rafael, Oliver Ruf, Sascha Schneider, and Grit Wolany, the book presents a multifaceted approach to "tender digitality."
