XXXL: When A Dog Comes To Stay
Just a year after Frank Ocean introduced his independent luxury brand Homer, the brand’s unique aesthetic has already made a significant impact. The debut Homer catalogue showcased Ocean’s collaboration with Tyrone Lebon, director of the Nikes music video, featuring a blend of intimate portraits, retro gaming elements, and glitch art. The catalogue highlighted Homer’s merchandise, including handcrafted 18K gold jewelry and American lab-grown diamonds, with pendants inspired by Pokémon.
Frank Ocean’s latest project, a poster book titled “XXXL: When A Dog Comes To Stay,” continues this distinctive style, with Ocean taking on the role of photographer. The book includes 14 posters and an oversized foldout centerpiece, serving as a retrospective of artwork released between July 14 and August 25, 2022.
In “When A Dog Comes To Stay,” Ocean elevates the brand’s visual language, merging LEGO and gaming aesthetics with sword-wielding, final-level bosses. The Homer logo features fluffy typography, Slowthai makes an appearance, and the iconic green robot baby accessory Ocean debuted at the Met Gallery is also included.
The book is available at select independent bookshops worldwide and can currently be purchased online through the Homer website.
